Level Up Repair

Privacy Policy

Level Up Repair repairs game controllers, consoles and phones in Oakville, Ontario. This page explains what happens to information collected through this website, and how to change the choices you have made.

The short version

  • We ask for what we need to quote and carry out a repair, and nothing more.
  • Analytics and advertising tools only run after you allow them.
  • We do not sell your information.
  • You can change your cookie choices at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer.

Who we are

Level Up Repair, Oakville, Ontario, Canada. For anything on this page, or to make a request about your information, email [email protected].

What we collect when you contact us

When you send a repair enquiry through this website we collect what you type in: your name, your email address, an optional phone number, the device you have, what is wrong with it, and any message or photos you attach.

We use it for one purpose: to answer you, price the repair, and carry it out. The enquiry is stored in this website’s database and is also emailed to us so we can reply to you.

The contact form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that the sender is a person and not a script. It runs when the form loads and does not set advertising cookies.

Measurement, advertising and cookies

This site does not set analytics or advertising cookies until you say so. When you first arrive, a prompt asks whether you allow measurement, advertising, or neither. Nothing in that prompt is pre-ticked, and refusing is as easy as accepting.

If you allow measurement, Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity are loaded. Google Analytics tells us which pages are read, how people arrived, and roughly where in the world they are. Microsoft Clarity records how pages are used — scrolling, tapping, and where people get stuck — so we can fix confusing layouts.

If you allow advertising, the Meta Pixel is loaded. It records visits to this site so we can measure how our Facebook and Instagram ads perform and show relevant ads to people who have shown interest. This is the only thing the pixel is used for.

If you refuse, or while you are still deciding, none of those tools are loaded. Google may still receive a cookieless, aggregate signal that a visit happened, which tells us how many people came without identifying any of them.

You can change your mind at any time. The Cookie settings link in the footer reopens the prompt so you can accept, personalise, or withdraw consent. Withdrawing takes effect immediately and applies to every page you visit afterwards.

Cookies and storage we use

  • rc-consent — our own record, kept in your browser’s local storage, of the choice you made. Always present, because it is the thing that keeps the others switched off.
  • Google Analytics 4 (_ga, _ga_*) — allowed with measurement. Lasts up to two years.
  • Microsoft Clarity (_clck, _clsk) — allowed with measurement. Lasts up to one year.
  • Meta Pixel (_fbp) — allowed with advertising. Lasts up to three months.
  • Cloudflare — our content delivery and security provider sets its own cookie when it needs to tell real visitors apart from automated traffic.

Booking a repair online

If you book a repair through the booking page, the appointment is handled by Cal.com on their own platform. The details you enter there are covered by Cal.com’s privacy policy as well as this one.

Who else sees your information

Apart from the service providers named on this page — Google, Microsoft, Meta, Cloudflare and Cal.com — nobody else receives your information. We do not sell it, rent it, or trade it. We will only pass it to someone else if the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep an enquiry for as long as we need it to answer you and to honour any warranty on work we carried out, and then we delete it. Records we are legally required to keep, such as repair invoices for tax purposes, are kept for as long as the law requires. If you would like an enquiry deleted sooner, ask us and we will remove it unless we are obliged to keep it.

Your rights

Under Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) you can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct anything that is wrong, withdraw your consent for measurement or advertising, or ask us to delete what we hold.

Email [email protected] and we will respond within 30 days. We may need to confirm your identity before releasing anything, so that we do not hand your information to somebody else.

Changes to this page

If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and the date below. It is worth a read if you have not seen it for a while.
